How often the car air filter should be replaced. There's no fixed interval .

Generally, we should change new air filter every 12,000-15,000 Miles.

The interval also depends on your driving habits. If you often drive in dirty or dusty conditions, the air filter should be repalced frequently.

There are also some signs to remind you need a air filter replacement as follows:

1.   air filter surface: if you see the air filter is dirty. From the original white color to dark with debris, it's time the change it.

2.   Sound when idling:  if air filter is clogged, it can cause car to make strange sound when idling. This sound may sound like a coughing or spitting coming from the engine.

3. Loss of performance:  another symptom that your car needs a new air filter is the decreased performance. Like a change in your car's fuel efficiency and loss of horsepower in the engine. also your car start to jerk when accelerating.
